AVL Powertrain Engineering Announces Nixon as Director of Advanced Simulation Technologies

PLYMOUTH, Mich., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- AVL Powertrain Engineering, Inc. named Glenn Nixon as Director of Advanced Simulation Technologies (AST), announced President Ray Corbin. Nixon will be responsible for sales, support and marketing of all AST products for North America.

"Glenn has a proven track record of growing new software sales in a competitive environment," said Corbin. "We plan to leverage his sales and business leadership skills to meet aggressive new business growth objectives."

Nixon adds to AVL more than 19 years of experience selling technical solutions to the industrial market. His background includes sales of test and measurement systems for durability and sound and vibration evaluation, as well as simulation and modeling software for structural, acoustics, vibration and fluid dynamics applications across a wide range of industries.

Prior to AVL, Nixon was the Central Region Sales Director for ANSYS, Inc. While in this role, he directed a staff of 24 direct and indirect sales professionals selling ANSYS simulation and modeling software and services solutions throughout the Central Region comprising of Canada and North-Central United States.

Previous roles also include the Great Lakes Sales Manager with Bruel & Kjaer North America and National Sales Manager with LMS North America.

Nixon received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from General Motors Institute in 1984.
