SHANGHAI, March 16 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- As one of the important global automotive industry events in 2009, the 13th International Automobile Industry Exhibition ("Auto Shanghai 2009"; http://www.autoshanghai.org ) will take place from April 22-28, 2009 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre under the brand new theme "Art of Innovation". Amid a global economic downturn, the China automotive market becomes a crucial marketplace for automobile manufacturers. Auto Shanghai 2009 will fully utilize all 11 indoor exhibition halls and outdoor temporary halls with a total exhibition space of 170,000 sqm, growing by 20% over Auto Shanghai 2007. In terms of show scale, Auto Shanghai 2009 is among the world's leading auto shows and is recognized as an A-class international auto show. Auto Shanghai 2009 is organized by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Sub-Council and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council, and co-organized by Shanghai International Exhibition Co Ltd and MMG-Messe Muenchen International/IMAG-International Messe-und Ausstellungsdienst GmbH, specially supported by China Machinery Industry Federation and the Society of Automotive Engineers of China.

In order to simplify the media registration process and to better cover Auto Shanghai 2009, the Organizers will implement an online press credential application system through official website (http://www.autoshanghai.org ). The press online registration process can be easily completed by providing related information with uploaded electronic or faxed photocopies of press identification documents, as requested and indicated. The Organizers will inform the registered applicators via email and mobile short message upon verification of submitted information. Press badges or press passes can then be obtained from the onsite media registration counter by providing the information listed in the email and mobile short message (press badges are valid for the whole exhibition, press passes are valid for media days only). All press members are expected to apply for media badges through the online registration system. For overseas reporters interested in short-term news coverage, a valid J2 visa must be obtained.
