BorgWarner Names John G. Sanderson President of Transmission Systems Business

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BorgWarner (NYSE: BWA) announced today that John G. Sanderson, 56, has been named President and General Manager of BorgWarner Transmission Systems, Drivetrain Group, and Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. He succeeds Bernd W. Matthes who has been appointed to the newly created position of President of Transmission Joint Ventures, and continues as Vice President of BorgWarner Inc.

Sanderson brings with him over 20 years of automotive experience. He most recently held the position of President and CEO, Americas for Siemens VDO starting in 2000. In that position, he was responsible for growing component sales organically and through mergers and acquisitions with strong focus upon technology leadership and strict financial discipline. He served in a variety of senior roles for Siemens including Vice President and General Manager, Powertrain Gasoline Systems.

Sanderson is a graduate of Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia B.S. and MBA programs.
