Cocero solution provides assets allowing OEMs to brand and tailor to their needs

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- CES -- HUGHES Telematics, a leader in developing the next generation of telematics solutions, today announced the launch of Cocero, the company's white label brand for its premier suite of telematics service offerings. Cocero is designed to offer HUGHES Telematics' OEM partners unparalleled flexibility through its open platform and next generation telematics architecture. Cocero will give OEMs a choice they have never had before: the ability to select their own service providers and brand and bundle a unique set of features and services on the most flexible telematics platform in the industry.

With Cocero's open architecture, the opportunities and choices are boundless. As a white label brand, Cocero is designed to allow OEMs to leverage HUGHES Telematics' expertise and years of telematics research and development, to build and brand their own proprietary solutions. This includes the opportunity for OEMs to use the Cocero assets and tools to develop their own distinctive services, to include OEM-specific branded content, and to choose preferred hardware and call center service providers.

"Cocero will allow our automotive partners to customize their telematics offerings in a way that was never before possible," said Erik Goldman, president, HUGHES Telematics. "Its comprehensive service offerings will provide OEMs with new tools to enhance their customer relationship management capabilities."

The Cocero platform will provide a host of safety and security, diagnostic, convenience, navigation and infotainment solutions, easily accessed from within the vehicle at the touch of a button or through a personalized Web portal. The philosophy behind Cocero is centered on the idea of a transformative in-vehicle experience for the customer that creates a paradigm shift in daily life. At its core, the Cocero brand is guided and defined by three essential concepts: simplicity, ingenuity and credibility.

HUGHES Telematics will be demonstrating the Cocero solution at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2009.
