Daimler AG Joins AIAG

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) is proud to announce its latest member, Daimler AG to its association. Effective, October 16, 2008 Daimler AG, a German-based corporation with the businesses Mercedes-Benz cars, Daimler Trucks, Daimler Financial Services, Mercedes-Benz Vans, and Daimler Buses, has signed as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) member allowing all its employees the benefits of AIAG.

As a member, AIAG will provide all employees of Daimler AG the opportunity to work collaboratively in a non-competitive environment with OEMs and suppliers from the global automotive supply chain. These groups come together in establishing positive change with automotive standards and guidelines that result in cost-savings and impact the way business is conducted.

Among AIAG's commercial truck, off-road and heavy equipment initiatives, employees from Daimler are currently working to develop a standardized, measurable, and quantifiable tool for supplier and product reliability assurance and creating common warranty codes for global warranty processes.
