Underprivileged Kids Receive Boost From Local Auto Insurer

CHICAGO, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinity Insurance launched Chicago's third annual "Backpack Program" in area schools. The initiative distributes school supply kits to children attending low-income schools. Most recently, Infinity visited three kindergarten classes at Jane Adams Elementary School. In addition to school supplies, Infinity also provides "child identification kits" to children and parents through partnerships with organizations including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC - www.missingkids.com).

According to the NCMEC, 2,000 children are reported missing every day. The Infinity child identification kits arm parents with up-to-date photo IDs, fingerprints and other vital information that can help law enforcement reunite missing children with their families quickly. The NCMEC has recovered over 100,000 missing children since 1984. Infinity hopes to lower the number of missing children and increase recovery rates through education and awareness. The safety kits also include talking points to help parents discuss safety with their children.

Infinity has a long history of community involvement, which includes funding scholarships, food and toy drives, disaster relief efforts, and sponsorships of non-profits. Jim Waldron, Vice-President of Business Development for Infinity says, "The 'Backpack Program' is one of our most rewarding efforts. The children genuinely appreciate their new school supplies. Our employees and the local independent insurance agencies who participate invest countless hours and resources to positively impact the neighborhoods where our customers raise their children."
