MARIANNA, Fla., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Tri-States Automotive Warehouse owner Walter Spence no longer has to worry about significant downtime and expense to train new warehouse workers at his 100,000 sq. ft. facility in Marianna.

"It was getting difficult to keep people who worked in the warehouse. It just got too hot and humid during the summer months," said Spence, whose company distributes automotive replacement parts throughout parts of northwest Florida, south Alabama, and south Georgia.

Three summers ago Spence installed a Coenco System(R), an innovative air destratification technology designed to control HVAC temperatures in warehouses and other large, high ceiling facilities such as distribution centers, food processing plants, indoor swimming pools and sports arenas.

"The difference was immediate," said Spence. "The constant, comfortable temperature level has allowed us to double our employee retention rate."

Spence learned about the Coenco System from a business associate. He looked into the company and scheduled a visit with Dr. Frank Siccardi, the inventor of the Coenco System(R). By following Dr. Siccardi's system design specifications, which included an application of Roof Cool II, a coating specially designed to reduce heat transfer, Spence found that the key to the system is its ability to precisely control the temperature to within 1.5 degrees from ceiling to floor, while reducing and maintaining a lower humidity.

The Coenco System(R) effectively reduces humidity with a gentle breeze that moves and mixes the air to produce a uniform temperature. It circulates pockets of hot and cold air zones to help achieve this," said Spence.

Spence installed four 5-ton AC units as part of the system. A local power company representative estimated Tri-States would have needed four times that amount of equipment without the Coenco system.

"Our energy savings are significantly more than they would have been without Coenco," he said. However, Spence is most thankful that his more than 70 warehouse workers come to work with better attitudes and morale that is being reflected in how well they perform.

"Anyone who operates a large facility knows that happy workers are productive workers. As we gear up for another summer season, I'm glad to know that our workers will keep their cool because our building is keeping its cool."
