IABC/Detroit Recognizes Outstanding Communicators During The 2008 Renaissance Awards Presented by General Motors

DETROIT, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Detroit Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC/Detroit) today announced the winners of the 27th annual Renaissance Awards, presented by General Motors.

The Renaissance Awards program continues a 27-year tradition of recognizing excellence in communication in all functional areas including strategic communication management, corporate communications, public and media relations, marketing, writing, design, advertising and multimedia. A wide variety of Southeast Michigan corporations and agencies were recognized for their outstanding work.

This year's recipient of the 2008 President's Award, which recognizes the "Best of the Best" in Communication Management, was presented to Sparrow Health System and Mercer for its internal communications program, "Sparrow Health System Retirement Choice Communications Campaign."

In the Communication Skills division, ASG Renaissance took home the Best of Show award for the publication "Blue Bird Propane-Powered School Bus Dealer Kit."

The Detroit Institute of Arts and Skidmore received the Best of Show for Communication Creative for DIA Collateral Brochure, a unique graphic design project.

In addition, IABC/Detroit also presented its 2008 Communicator of the Year Award to Leah Reynolds, national practice leader for Generational Change and Total Rewards communication with Deloitte Consulting, LLP.
