HARRISBURG, N.C., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Racing Against Cancer(TM) and America's Motorsports Authority, National Speed Sport News, are partnering this summer to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

RAC raises money for the ACS as well as David's House, a residence for cancer patient's families in Dartmouth, N.H., and the Tomorrow Fund, which provides financial and emotional support for children who have cancer in Providence, R.I.

National Speed Sport News, through its Grass Roots Tour, will collect money for RAC, while auctioning off special racing memorabilia such as autographed helmets and collector's items. The auctions will be administered by www.GoMotorBids.com(TM), which has helped National Speed Sport News raise money for charity in the past.

"Last year we raised funds for the Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary, and this year we are targeting Racing Against Cancer(TM) and it's our way of giving back and keeping our involvement in our industry," said NSSN Publisher Corinne Economaki. "This should be a winning arrangement for all of us."

RAC items up for a June 2 auction include autographed items from NASCAR Cup champion Tony Stewart, including a driver's suit and a body panel from a modified Stewart raced at New Hampshire Int'l Speedway in July 2006. In addition, hundreds of driver-autographed items, including hero cards, are up for bid.

RAC (www.RacingAgainstCancer.com) has collected more than $500,000 since 1996 for its beneficiaries. It operates primarily in the Northeast, and can be found at race tracks throughout New England.
