Car repair is not always easy. A car is manufactured by combining many simple systems and parts manually. Diagnosing it can be quite easy once you learn how exactly these systems work and how they interact with each other. Some of the common problems and their repairing tips are discussed below:

Car belt's - Usually, car belts should be replaced when you find cracks in the perpendicular edge of the belt and pieces starts coming out and also if any noise comes out from it. Replace the belt to solve this problem. Following are its replacement procedure:

  • The alternator should be installed,
  • Turn the tension bolt clock-wise with the help of a wrench,
  • Attach the belt,
  • Finally release the wrench,
  • The belts get allied automatically when the car is started up.

Bad wheel bearing - You will know that you have bad wheel bearing when you hear metal grinding and a humming sound. It is recommended that you visit your mechanic as soon as you discover this problem.

Brakes - Brakes are the most important parts of an automobile. Front brakes and rear brakes are the two types of brakes used in a car. When the brakes pad get damage, the brakes stops working properly.

  • Remove the bolts with the rubber boots,
  • Loosen the pads present in the caliper, and
  • Replace the brakes.

Engines and fuel - Engine and fuel problem can be detected when the car is not starting, conking out, running roughly or consuming much petrol.

  • Check out the electrical systems if the car is not starting
  • If it is conking, the fuel system of your car may be at fault
  • Check the cooling system if the car is overheated
  • Check each part and get the parts repaired or replaced
  • For other specific problems, consult your car manual

Car steering - There are certain reasons that may cause your steering wheel to shake. Either the fluid of steering is dirty or linkage is loose or the car has a wheel out of alignment. To solve this problem you need to perform some easy steps:

  • Remove the steering wheel,
  • Change the fluid,
  • Tighten the linkage.

Car suspension - Suspension leaning to one side is a common problem. It can be either because it doesn't have 'air ride' or low tire pressure or damaged strut or broken leaf spring. To mend this problem:

  • Make a replacement set up of the 'air-ride',
  • Adjust the tire pressure,
  • Repair the damaged strut, or
  • Remove the broken leaf springs.

Car smells - There are several car problems which can be detected by a distinct odor. As soon as you discover any foul smell, get your car checked by a mechanic. Following are some of the ways through which you can diagnosis the source of smells coming out of your car:

  • Check if you have left the gas cap open,
  • Check the tailpipe for cracks, broken pieces or holes,
  • Inspect all the rubber hoses and belts, and
  • Check the oil regularly.

An individual can easily boost up the longevity and performance of their car by focusing on proper maintenance and by avoiding the above mentioned problems.
