Auto Body Painting
Make Your Car Unique With a Paintjob
We are usually very choosy and sensitive about the colour of our vehicle. Many of us attach superstitions to the colour of the car, as lucky or vibrant colours. Every time the colour of our vehicle gets depleted or faded, we think of expensive painting works from vendors. However, the minor painting issues can be resolved domestically without putting extra onus on your pocket. Moreover, you can also apply your creativity skills to come up with some of the most soothing colour combinations matching your personality and style. Repainting the old car also increases its resale value significantly. So, to make a style statement and to make most out of your investments, just guide through the following useful tips and perform the painting job manually.
Auto Body Painting Tips
Painting a car at your home is not as complicated as we often perceive, it can be achieved effectively, though only at micro-level. Besides, for painting the whole auto-body, specialized treatment is recommended. The entire repainting of the auto body can be avoided by applying some furnishers, which may improve the chalky appearance, minor scratches and other contaminants from your car by deoxidizing the surface. These furnishers include a number of polishing stuffs. These materials don't cost much to the user and these are worth trying to avoid the hassles of painting the whole car. Else you can separately tackle the different scratches using sandpaper and waxing material.
However, this is not advised for the latest model luxury cars as they can irremediably taint the appearance of these mean machines.
Some useful tips for painting the car are discussed below:-
A good quality matching colour must be procured from the market. It is advised to put a primer base coat, before applying the actual paint.
Any debris or impurities must be wiped off from the area before painting.
Paint must be mixed in proper ratios before application; this can be done by using measuring cups and sticks.
Paint should be applied gently and cautiously to check any overflow of the paint along the margins.
After applying the paint, the area should be buffed with a dry cloth to restore the shine of that area.
The above tips are extremely helpful in repairing the minor scratches and small peeling of paints due to some minor collisions. There are some specific techniques employed for an effective application of the paints on your cars, these include:
Spray Gun- Spray gun method generally used by professionals involves targeted spray of paint on the required region with the help of a spraying device. A functional spray gun can be purchased from the market. The device should be handled with great care.
Guide Coat- This technique includes the application of a contrast colour using a canned spray-gun. The contrast colour is misted on the area followed by the application of a second coat of primer.
Clear Coat- In this method, a first coat of primer is applied before applying the paint on peeled areas. This is again followed by a second primer coat over which the paint is further applied.
