New Flow Control Valve On
1979 Chevrolet 5.7L (350 CID)
V-8 Light-Duty Diesel Engine In C-10 Pick-Up Trucks
A new flow control valve (P/N 8997446 -- CV-804) has been released for 1979 Chevrolet C-10 pick-up trucks equipped with 5.7L (350 CID) diesel engines. This valve increases the flow of crankcase gases, thereby keeping the crankcase pressure at a minimum.
Therefore, anytime the subject engine is being repaired for an oil leak, oil loss through the dipstick tube, engine oil in the air intake or any other symptom indicative of excessive crankcase pressure, it is recommended that the flow control valve be changed at the same time.
