On 1991 Eclipse, Mirage, Pickup and 3000GT w/Manual A/C, when the air selection control cable lever does not move correctly through its full range of motion, then control cables may require adjustment.
To correct condition, proceed as follows:
- Remove the glove box stopper or screws, lowering box forward and downward to gain access to control cable.
- On Eclipse, Mirage and 3000GT models, set air selection control lever to inside air position.

- Pull parking brake lever with force of approximately 45 lbs. Lever stroke should be 5-7 notches on Precis & 1990 Van or 4-6 notches on Montero.
- If lever stroke is not within specifications, pull parking brake lever repeatedly to adjust shoe clearance, then adjust parking brake lever stroke by turning cable adjusting nut.
- Raise and support rear of vehicle and, with parking brake lever released, turn rear wheels to ensure rear brakes are not dragging.

- Remove the lefthand instrument panel side cover.
- Disconnect the fuel pump relay.
- Start the engine and let run until is stalls.
- Place the ignition switch in Off position.
- Connect fuel pump relay.
