Before installing replacement compressor, drain oil from replacement and failed compressors (drain oil from suction port). Add same amount of oil to replacement compressor as drained from failed compressor.

Remove defective components. Add the proper amount of oil to each replacement component. Most recovery/recycling equipment will measure the amount of oil being removed.   • With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
  • Remove the front wheel and tire assembly.
  • Remove rear disc brake caliper and suspend aside using mechanics wire.
  • Remove front axle wheel hub retaining nut.
  • Remove tie rod end nut and separate tie rod end from knuckle.
  • Remove stabilizer bar link nut.
  • Remove upper ball joint nut and separate upper ball joint from knuckle.
  • Remove CV shaft assembly from vehicle.
  • Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
    • Torque axle shaft hub nut to 184 ft. lbs.
    • Torque upper ball joint nut to 51 ft....
