  • Disconnect vacuum line, then separate halves of heater and A/C unit and remove center adapter heat duct and screw.
  • Remove door from bottom half of heater and A/C unit.
  • Reverse procedure to install. Ensure door pivot pins align with holes when assembling heater and A/C housing.

  • Disconnect battery ground cable.
  • Raise and support vehicle.
  • Remove lower mounting nut and lock washer, then remover upper mounting bolt.
  • Move starter forward until gears clears bellhousing, then tilt starter nose down past exhaust pipe.
  • Remove battery and solenoid wires, then remove starter from vehicle.
  • Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
    • Torque starter mounting bolts to 50 ft. lbs.
    • Torque starter mounting nuts to 20 ft. lbs.
    • Torque battery lead terminal nut to 90 in. lbs.
