- On models without air spring suspension, raise and support vehicle.
- On all models, remove wheel.
- Loosen collar bolt for outer joint of drive axle.
- Remove noise insulation.
- Remove drive axle from transmission flange shaft.
- Remove drive axle. If there is not sufficient room to remove drive axle, proceed as follows:
- Remove nut and hex bolt and pull out both upper links upward.
- Swing wheel bearing housing out to side.
- Remove drive axle.

The nickel plated valve insert must be replaced every tire change. Release air from the tire by removing the nickel plated valve insert. The TPMS sensor can be reused, but a damaged sensor must be replaced.
- Loosen the wheel lug nuts.
- Raise and support the vehicle with jack stands.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- When dismounting the tire from the rim, note the following:
