Vehicle: 2008 Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed 2.3 L4 GAS
- Unhook battery cover from battery box.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove bolts securing charge air cooler cover then remove cover.
- Remove air cleaner hose intake clamps, disconnect MAP sensor connector, and remove bolts securing housing assembly.
- Remove bolts from body side heat insulator and upper exhaust manifold insulator.
- Raise vehicle on lift.
- Rotate or lift belt tensioner arm clockwise, using a suitable tool to relieve tension from drive belt.
- Remove drive belt.
- Remove nut securing alternator then remove bracket.
- Remove nuts securing alternator duct then remove duct.

- Unhook battery cover from battery box.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise vehicle on lift.
- Remove engine undercover bolts and splash shield as a single unit.
- Remove plug hole plate by lifting up on rubber clips with suitable tool.
- Remove plug hole plate from side of engine.
- Remove A/C compressor drive belt.
- Rotate center of belt tensioner counterclockwise, using a suitable tool to relieve tension from drive belt.
