Master Cylinder
- Connect one end of a clear flexible hose to master cylinder bleeder screw. Submerge other end in a container partially filled with suitable brake fluid.
- Have an assistant pump and then hold firm pressure on brake pedal.
- Open master cylinder bleeder screw until brake fluid flows into container.
- When fluid stops flowing, close bleeder screw.
- Repeat procedure until there are no air bubbles in fluid.
- Have an assistant pump and then hold firm pressure on brake pedal.
- Loosen a master cylinder tube fitting at anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit.

CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Front -> Rear

Front
- Loosen the front axle wheel hub retainer.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
- Remove the front wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove rear disc brake caliper and suspend aside using mechanics wire.
- Remove front axle wheel hub retaining nut.
- Remove tie rod end nut and separate tie rod end from knuckle.
- Remove stabilizer bar link nut.
- Remove upper ball joint nut and separate upper ball joint from knuckle.
- Remove CV shaft assembly from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque axle shaft hub nut to 184 ft. lbs.
- Torque upper ball joint nut to 51 ft....

TPMS Sensor Activation
To conserve battery power, the TPMS sensors will go into a sleep mode after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity. The sensors will not transmit tire pressure information while in sleep mode. The sensors must be activated to transmit the latest tire pressure information.
- Place the ignition switch in the On position.
- Position Ford TPMS activation tool, or equivalent, against the LF tire side wall 180° from the valve stem.
- The TPMS activation tool will flash a green light and sound a beep for each successful response from a TPMS sensor.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Loosen band clamp and remove air filter element, tray and inlet snorkel.
- Disconnect electronic throttle control electrical connector.
- Disconnect throttle position sensor electrical connector.
- Remove throttle body bolts and gasket then remove throttle body. Discard throttle body gasket and install new gasket upon installation.
- Rotate accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and position accessory drive belt aside.
- Pull up on wiring harness and remove locators for alternator bracket.
