If damaged, the TPMS sensor battery may release hazardous chemicals. If the chemicals come in contact with the skin or eyes, flush immediately with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
The tire pressure sensor is equipped with a Lithium-ion battery which must be disposed of properly.
Tire pressure sensors are manufactured in multiple colors based on their application. When installing a new sensor, make sure the color of the sensor being installed matches the color of the sensor that was removed. The different colored sensors are not interchangea...

TPMS Sensor Activation
To conserve battery power, the TPMS sensors will go into a sleep mode after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity. The sensors will not transmit tire pressure information while in sleep mode. The sensors must be activated to transmit the latest tire pressure information.
- Place the ignition switch in the On position.
- Position Ford TPMS activation tool, or equivalent, against the LF tire side wall 180° from the valve stem.
- The TPMS activation tool will flash a green light and sound a beep for each successful response from a TPMS sensor.
