Manual Bleed
Pressure bleeding is recommended for all hydraulic systems. However, if a pressure bleeder is unavailable, use the following procedure. Brake fluid damages painted surfaces. Immediately clean any spilled fluid.
- Remove vacuum reserve by pumping brakes several times with engine off.
- Fill master cylinder reservoir with clean brake fluid. Inspect fluid level often during bleeding procedure, do not let reservoir fall below half full.
- If required, bleed master cylinder as follows:
- Disconnect front EBTCM pipe fitting at master cylinder.

To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
- Raise and support vehicle on a hoist.
- Remove rear tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove wheel drive shaft retaining nut and discard the nut.
- Disconnect wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
