TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM PROCEDURES FOR 2007 Ford Edge AUTOMOBILES
Description, component locations, reset procedures, relearn procedures, diagnosis and testing, wiring diagrams, component replacement, and identification of vehicles equipped and not equipped with tire pressure monitoring system for most domestic and imported 2007 Ford Edge cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. from mid 1990's+.
Component Replacement -> Installation -> Pressure Monitor Sensor (Strap & Cradle Type) -> Pressure Monitor Sensor (Valve Stem Type) -> Removal
Vehicle: 2007 Ford Edge SE 3.5 V6 GAS
Pressure Monitor Sensor (Valve Stem Type)
Use only tool no. 204-354 anytime tire pressures are measured to be sure that accurate values are obtained. Place air chuck straight on the valve stem to inflate tire. Do not cock air chuck during inflation cycle. Doing so can damage valve stem and cause air leaks. Ford recommends using a round head air chuck on tire pressure sensors; it is not recommended to use air chucks with long shanks. Doing so can cause tire pressure sensor valve stem damage and loss of tire pressure.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- With valve stem at the 6 o'...

Diagnosis & Testing -> Intermittent & Poor Connections -> Intermittents -> Poor Connections
Vehicle: 2007 Ford Edge SEL 3.5 V6 GAS
Intermittent & Poor Connections
Intermittents
Most intermittents are caused by faulty electrical connections or wiring. Inspect for the following:
- Wiring broken inside insulation.
- Poor connection between male and female terminal at connector.
- Poor terminal to wire connection. Some conditions which fall under this are:
- Poor crimps.
- Poor solder joints.
- Crimping over wire insulation rather than wire.
- Corrosion in wire to terminal contact.
- Wire insulation which is rubbed through. This causes an intermittent short as bare area touches other wiring or components.
Poor Connections
- It is import...

Relearn Procedures -> TPMS Sensor Activation -> TPMS Sensor Training
Vehicle: 2007 Ford Edge SEL 3.5 V6 GAS
TPMS Sensor Activation
To conserve battery power, the TPMS sensors will go into a sleep mode after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity. The sensors will not transmit tire pressure information while in sleep mode. The sensors must be activated to transmit the latest tire pressure information.
- Place the ignition switch in the On position.
- Position Ford TPMS activation tool, or equivalent, against the LF tire side wall 180° from the valve stem.
- The TPMS activation tool will flash a green light and sound a beep for each successful response from a TPMS sensor.
- Press the TPMS activat...

Description
Vehicle: 2007 Ford Edge SEL 3.5 V6 GAS
The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) has the ability to monitor the air pressure of all five tires. The tire-mounted pressure sensors transmit signals to the TPMS module by using the valve stem as an antenna. These transmissions are sent approximately every 30 seconds when the vehicle speed exceeds 20 mph. The ...
