- Raise and support vehicle.
- Disconnect both tunnel struts.
- Remove rear section of exhaust system at exhaust pipe clamp(s).
- Unbolt heat shield for center bearing.
- Remove bolts and take off cover.
- Remove nuts securing front mufflers and tie up or support front mufflers. Avoid excessive bending of flexible pipe connection (decoupling element) on front exhaust pipe. Angle between front muffler and front exhaust pipe must not exceed 10° or flexible connection will be damaged.
- Remove bolts and remove heat shield from transmission.

The nickel plated valve insert must be replaced every tire change. Release air from the tire by removing the nickel plated valve insert. The TPMS sensor can be reused, but a damaged sensor must be replaced.
- Loosen the wheel lug nuts.
