  • Remove master cylinder boot.
  • Remove setscrew and reservoir tank, then the cap and strainer from reservoir.
  • Remove two grommets and place cylinder in vise.
  • Push piston in and remove stopper bolt, Fig. .
  • Push pistons in and remove snap ring, then No. 1 piston carefully by hand.
  • Place cylinder on edges of two wooden blocks and tap on cylinder until No. 2 piston comes out.
Inspection

Clean parts with compressed air. Inspect cylinder bore for rust and scoring. Also, inspect for wear or damag...

Master Cylinder
  • Fill reservoir.
  • Disconnect master cylinder tubes.
  • Slowly depress brake pedal and hold.
  • Block outlet holes with fingers and release pedal.
  • Repeat 3-4 times.
Brake Lines

Bleed wheel with longest brake line first, then work your way back to the master cylinder according to brake line length.

  • Connect brake cylinder tube.
  • Depress pedal several times and hold.
  • Loosen bleeder plug.
  • When fluid stops coming out, tighten bleeder plug and release pedal.
  • Repeat several times.
  • Repeat entire procedure for each wheel.
  • Fill reservoir.
