Whenever the ECM is replaced, the new ECM will need to be "Coded." Use the following procedure to "Code" the ECM.
- Connect VAG 1551/1552, or equivalent scan tool to diagnostic connector.
- Select "Engine Electronics" address word "01", then press "Q" button to confirm input.
- Press "right arrow" button, "Rapid Data Transfer" and "Select function XX" should appear on the display.
- Press "1" button two times, "Log-in Procedure" and "Input Code Number" should appear on the display.
- Press "0, 1, 2, 8 and 3" to input log-in code, then press "Q" button to confirm input.
