Less Toyota Hand-Held Tester
  • On Land Cruiser models, ensure center differential is free.
  • On all models, turn ignition switch to On position.
  • Disconnect short pin from Data Link Connector 1 (DLC1).
  • Connect terminals Tc and E1 or CG of DLC1 or DLC3 using tool No. 09843-18020, or equivalent, Figs. through .
  • Read and record number of times ANTI-LOCK warning lamp flashes.
  • If system is operating properly, (no faults) warning lamp will blink once every .25 seconds.
  • Connect actuator check connector and ensure proper operation.

  • On RAV4 models, remove air cleaner cover with air cleaner hose.
  • On all models, label and disconnect brake lines using line wrench 09751-36011, 09023-00100, or equivalent. Cap brake lines from master cylinder.
  • Disconnect wire connector from brake pressure switch and then disconnect level warning switch connector, if equipped.
  • Remove master cylinder to brake unit attaching nuts, then remove master cylinder, wire clamp, gasket and 3-way union, as needed.
  • Reverse procedure to install. Bleed brake system.
