  • Disconnect IAT and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
  • Remove fuel regulator purge tube from air intake duct.

Cooling fan operation is controlled by the PCM through the fan relay. The PCM uses signals from the engine coolant temperature sensor, intake air temperature sensor, A/C refrigerant pressure sensor and vehicle speed sensor to determine when and how long the fan should operate. The PCM turns the cooling fan on by providing a ground path for the cooling fan control circuit which activates the coolant fan relay.
