- Disconnect wire connector from clutch field coil connector.
- Remove retaining bolts from compressor manifolds.
- Remove refrigerant lines. Plug lines and compressor ports to prevent dirt and moisture contamination.
- Remove hex head screw attaching compressor adjusting arm to mounting bracket.

All water pumps have a sealed bearing integral with the water pump shaft. The bearing requires no lubrication. A bleed hole in the pump housing allows water that may leak past the seal to be thrown out by the slinger. This is not a lubrication hole. If the pump is damaged and requires repair, it must be replaced as an assembly.

A/C Condenser Cooling Fan
Probe
Refer to Fig. for A/C condenser cooling fan terminal identification.
- Turn ignition Off, then disconnect A/C condenser cooling fan connector.
- Apply 12 volts to terminal three on fan, then ground terminal two. A/C condenser cooling fan should operate at low speed.
- Apply 12 volts to terminal one on fan, then ground terminal two. Fan should operate at high speed.
- If fan operates properly at both speeds, return to diagnostic tests. If fan does not operate properly, replace fan.
