  • Disconnect wiring harness at low pressure cycling clutch switch and loosen screw at accumulator retaining band.
  • Disconnect suction line from accumulator, then accumulator inlet tube from the evaporator. Install plugs or tape over all open refrigerant lines.
  • Remove accumulator from retaining band.
  • Reverse procedure to install.

If battery cable has been disconnected, the PCM must relearn a new operating strategy. Connect battery cable and run engine until operating temperature is reached. After engine warm-up, drive vehicle under various operating conditions until PCM has relearned new strategy.

  • Drain coolant from radiator until level is below thermostat housing.
  • Remove upper radiator hose, then heater hose at thermostat housing and engine coolant sensor wire.
  • Remove thermostat housing bolts and gasket, then the thermostat.

    • Ensure pellet encircled by coil spring faces engine.
