Anti-Lock Warning Lamp

The amber Anti-lock warning lamp is located in the instrument panel cluster. This lamp will illuminate when the EBCM detects a malfunction in the anti-lock brake system. The warning lamp is intended only to warn the driver that a condition has been detected which results in partial or total reduction of the anti-lock brake system. Pressure bleeding is recommended for all hydraulic systems. However, if a pressure bleeder is unavailable, use the following procedure. Brake fluid damages painted surfaces. Immediately clean any spilled fluid.

  • Remove vacuum reserve by pumping brakes several times with engine off.
  • Fill master cylinder reservoir with clean brake fluid. Check fluid level often during bleeding procedure; do not let reservoir fall below half full.
