DESCRIPTION
Voltage is available at all times through fusible link A to coolant fan relay contacts. With ignition switch in Run position, voltage is available through fuse 9 to coolant fan relay coil. When the ECM receives a signal from coolant temperature sensor, ground is provided for coolant fan relay by module's coolant fan terminal. Voltage is applied through fuse 9 to coolant fan relay coil. When ECM grounds the circuit, coolant fan relay contacts close and voltage is applied through coolant fan relay contacts to coolant fan and the fan runs.
When refrige...

DESCRIPTION
The coolant fan is controlled by the coolant fan relay. The coolant fan relay is electrically operated by the ECM. The ECM receives input signals from the coolant temperature sensor, the vehicle speed sensor and the A/C mode selector. The ECM activates the coolant fan relay when the engine coolant, which is sensed by the coolant temperature sensor, is above 227°F, when the A/C is turned on or when the coolant temperature sensor fails. Any of these input signals causes the ECM to ground circuit 535 or 536 when vehicle speed is less than 35 mph. With circuit 535 o...
