- Remove air cleaner assembly, then intake manifold support.
- Disconnect spring between throttle valve housing and intake manifold support.
- On models equipped with cruise control, remove actuator from stud to allow removal of starter.
- On all models, remove starter support bracket from starter and engine block.
- Remove starter to transmission attaching bolts, then separate drag link from pitman arm.
- Remove battery positive cable and disconnect starter wiring from junction box.
