When servicing starter or performing any maintenance in the area of starter, note heavy gauge input lead connected to starter solenoid is Hot at all times.
- Disconnect battery ground cable, then isolate cable end with electrical tape or equivalent.
- Remove fresh air duct and the air cleaner assembly.
- Disconnect wiring electrical connections from starter motor assembly.
- Remove starter motor retaining bolts, then starter motor from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
