| Summary: | TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 GMC YUKON XL 2500. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND LOST POWER STEERING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT IT TOOK A FEW MINUTES. HE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND THERE HAD BEEN NO FURTHER OCCURRENCES. AFTER THE REPAIR, HE DISCOVERED THE RECALL FOR THE SAME DEFECT FOR THE YUKON, BUT NOT FOR THE YUKON XL, EVEN THOUGH IT HAD THE SAME MOTOR. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, ALTHOUGH THE CONTACT FEELS THAT IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. |
