| Summary: | I HAVE BEEN "LOCKED-OUT" OF GEAR IN MY 2005 SRT-4 MULTIPLE TIMES. EVEN WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS FULLY AND PROPERLY PRESSED, THE TRANSMISSION REFUSES TO SHIFT AND ENGAGE A GEAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD GEAR. WHEN IT OCCURS, I AM STUCK IN NEUTRAL, UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC MANY TIMES. JUST TODAY I WAS UNABLE TO ENGAGE THIRD GEAR WHILE GOING DOWN AN ON-RAMP, SO I WAS STUCK COASTING DOWN INTO RAPIDLY MOVING TRAFFIC. THOUGH I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO GET INTO GEAR, IT WAS QUITE HARROWING. DODGE NEEDS TO PERFORM A RECALL ON THIS TRANSMISSION BEFORE IT DOES CAUSE SOMEONE TO BECOME SERIOUSLY INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT. *NM |
