| Summary: | DT: THE CONTACT STATED ON 7-12-05 2000 FORD F150 CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT WAS LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S HOUSE. THE FIRE ORIGINATED UNDER THE HOOD ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AGREED THAT ORIGINATED UNDER THE HOOD. FORD TOLD THE CONTACT TO TAKE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER SAID THE VEHICLE WAS SO BURNED THAT THEY COULD NOT TELL WHAT HAPPENED. THEN THE DEALER SAID IT DID NOT LOOK LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS BURNED ENOUGH TO DETERMINE THAT THE CAUSE WAS THE SCDS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN AUGUST 05. THE CONTACT REPORTED HAVING NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. PRIOR TO THIS, THE CALLER REPORTED HAVING NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. HE NOTICED THAT RIGHT SIGNAL LIGHT FUSE KEPT BLOWING AND HE HAD TO REPLACE IT OFTEN. THE POLICE DID VISIT THE SCENE BUT DID NOT MAKE A REPORT.*AK |
