| Summary: | MY WIFE'S 3.1 GENERAL MOTORS V6 NEEDED A MANIFOLD GASKET AND RELATED ITEMS REPLACED ON HER 2000 MALIBU WHICH ONLY HAS 48,000 MILES AND IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF. MY 1995 LUMINA HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. AFTER CHECKING WITH MANY SHOPS AND GM DEALERS (AND A CO-WORKER WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM TODAY)...IT IS A VERY COMMON DEFECT @ EVERY 40,000 MILES. IT COULD TURN OUT TO BE A VERY BAD DEAL FOR MANY CONSUMERS AND IT APPEARS THAT THE MANUFACTURER KNEW OF DEFECT FOR YEARS. JUST A HEADS UP FOR YOU. *JB |
