| Summary: | MY FATHER-IN-LAW PULLED UP AT WORK. HE TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND HE HEARD A NOISE UNDER THE TRUCK NEAR THE DRIVERS DOOR. HE LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK TO SEE WHAT WAS MAKING THE NOISE AND FOUND THE ABS PUMP STILL RUNNING. HE HAD THE MECHANIC AT THE JOB SITE LOOK AT IT AND HE DISCONNECTED THE PUMP. THE ABS LIGHT AS WELL AS THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON BUT THE TRUCK WAS DRIVABLE. HE TOLD ME ABOUT IT AND I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT IT IS A VERY LARGE PROBLEM! CHEVROLET IS REFUSING TO RECALL THE PART AND PUTTING THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN DANGER. IF THE ABS FAILS DURING BAD ROAD CONDITIONS EVERYONE IS AT RISK. THE OCCUPANTS AND THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. THIS NEEDS TO BE PUT INTO A FORCE RECALL BY THE NHTSA FOR THE SAFETY OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE DEATHS ON THE ROAD BEFORE SAFETY ISSUES ARE ADDRESSED. PLEASE ACT SWIFTLY IN THIS MATTER BEFORE THE DEATHS START SHOWING UP FROM THIS ISSUE. *JB |
