| Summary: | MODERATE TO HEAVY VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. LOW VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING AT LOWER SPEEDS, 40 OR LESS. TOYOTA HAS REPLACED THE BRAKES TWICE AND WILL DO IT AGAIN ON MONDAY 9/10/01. THIS IS NO GURANTEE THAT THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED. SEVERAL OTHER 2000 AND 2001 TUNRDA SUFFER FROM THE SAME DEFECT. TOYOTA REPEATS THAT THIS IS A ANOYANCE AND NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. ALL TUNRDA OWNERS REGARD IT AS A SAFETY ISSUE, DUE TO THE FACT THIS DEFECT HAS TO DO WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM. THE ACTUAL CAUSE OF THE VIBRATION IS WARPING OF THE ROTORS WHEN THEY HEAT. SOME TUNDRAS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR BRAKES, BUT ITS LIMITED. |
