| Summary: | IN RE: SEAT BELTS: THE INERTIA REELS ON THE FRONT BELTS (BOTH SIDES) OF MY VEHICLE ARE INOPERATIVE 99% OF THE TIME. YANKING THE BELTS ENGAGES THE REELS ONLY OCCASIONALLY. THE ONES IN THE SHOWROOM VEHICLES ENGAGED EVERY TIME. RESEARCH ON THE WEB REVEALS THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT CHEVROLET IS CHARGING ALMOST $300 EACH TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE UNITS!. INRE: THE ABS BRAKES: I WAS TOWING A BOAT AND HAD TO SLOW, QUICKLY, FOR A YELLOW LIGHT TURNING RED. AS THE ABS ENGAGED I LOST MY BRAKES AND WENT RIGHT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION! THE BRAKES ARE IN GREAT MECHANICAL CONDITION. AGAIN, SEARCHING THE WEB FOR INFORMATION, I AM STEERED TO THE WHEEL SENSOR WIRES IN THE FRONT. THE WORD IS THAT THE WIRES ARE BADLY ROUTED, SUBJECT TO DAMAGE, AND CAUSE LOSS OF BRAKING. THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS ON BULLETIN BOARDS OF COSTLY REPAIRS TO THE WIRES FOLLOWING BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE! *AK |
