Shoestrings - How to Get into the Mobile Oil Change Business on a Shoestring
The Mobile Oil Change Business is a good business because it is much needed by those who desire their automobiles to last. Currently there are many business opportunities on the market and ways to get into the industry. Some are franchises, which have financing and cost about $60,000 to 80,000 and others are business opportunities, which sell you a manual and equipment you can put into a pickup, van or mount onto a trailer. The equipment can run about $12,000.
If you cannot afford this and want to go total shoestring, then go to Wal-mart and buy an oil drain plastic pan, a small wrench set which has both metric and standard, an oil change filter tool and a clip board. Then go to an office building and take orders, come back the next day with the required filters, which you can buy at Napa Autoparts, which opens early. Then go and change the oil and collect your checks and cash. Then go to the bank and tell them you want to make a deposit of your checks and cash, you need at least $150.00 at most banks to start and open an account.
If you follow this method you can start on a shoestring with only $75.00 to $100.00 up front costs. As your business expands you can then buy a trailer and a get a large plastic 55-gallon drum to store the waste oil, then go buy a business license and a magnetic sign for advertising. Next week you can print flyers up to give to leave at businesses. This is how you build something from nothing with your personal will power.
Often I wonder why people complain instead of getting off their butts and getting out there and doing it. Just because you think you have no way to borrow the money or start a business is no reason to make excuses and become a bum.
